Tool steunpunt Friesland
An internal filtering tool for Steunpunt Friesland staff, built with Laravel and Filament, to quickly find and manage locations by sector, age range, and more.
Steunpunt Friesland had a massive spreadsheet listing every care location for young people who struggled to keep up in regular education. Whenever they got a request for a matching school, finding the right location meant a lot of manual digging. That's the problem this tool was built to solve.
Our solution
To solve this problem, we developed a tool that lets staff easily filter locations by various factors, such as:
- Location
- Interests/sectors
- Maximum age (e.g. up to 15 years old)
- Name of the location
How we built it
We used the Laravel framework combined with Filament to build the tool. Thanks to Filament's built-in CRUD functionality (Create, Read, Update, Delete), we were able to quickly build a user-friendly admin panel. This lets staff easily:
- Add new locations
- Edit existing locations
- Delete locations
- Edit sectors
- Add sectors
- Delete sectors
To get all 200+ locations into the tool in one go, we wrote a script that filled the database directly.
Within a short amount of time we delivered a working version of the tool, which now lets Steunpunt Friesland work more efficiently and with a clearer overview.
